PEPE MURCIA DERIVACIONES E INFLUENCIAS


  No-músico , compositor , letrista , productor , dj , fotógrafo .


 


  La derivación  de Pepe Murcia hacia la fotografía es debida a su enorme pasión por la música pop y rock ( donde se puede destacar la enorme influencia de Mick Rock , el que fuera principal fotógrafo del rock en los años 70 , sobre todo del movimiento Glam , con sus famosas fotografías a David Bowie , The Rolling Stones , Lou Reed , Iggy Pop y tantos otros ) , la literatura ( fundamentalmente Giovanni Papini y  la BEAT GENERATION   con Allen Ginsberg , Jack Kerouac , Gregory Corso y otros , un estilo muy plástico y descriptivo ) , la pintura   ( principalmente el ARTE POP y sus estandartes máximos : Roy Lichtenstein y Andy Warhol ) , la arquitectura  ( el modernismo español con Antoni Gaudí a la cabeza y Walter Gropius y su Bauhaus ) , la escultura (  Miguel Ángel , Bernini y Salvador Dalí principalmente ) y el cine . En este apartado habría que hacer unas menciones muy especiales puesto que , sin ninguna duda , el cine y su fotografía son la influencia fundamental para Pepe Murcia .   No sería posible entender su obra sin acercarnos a Lucien Ballard    ( fotógrafo del  magnífico western crepuscular  “Grupo Salvaje” de Sam Peckinpah , de “El guateque “ de Blake   Edwards y de “The killing” de Stanley Kubrick ) , Russell Metty ( fotógrafo de la obra cumbre del cine negro “Sed de mal” de Orson Welles , de “Espartaco” de Kubrick  y de “Éramos desconocidos” de John Huston ) , Robert Burks ( fotógrafo de algunas de las mejores películas de Alfred Hitchcock como “Atrapa a un ladrón” , “Vértigo” y “Con la muerte en los talones” ) , Winston C. Hoch ( fotógrafo de “Centauros del desierto” de John Ford , de “Retorno al Paraíso” de Mark Robson y de “Viaje al fondo del mar” de Irwin Allen ) , John Alcott ( fotógrafo de “Barry Lyndon” y “La naranja mecánica” de Stanley Kubrick  y de “Greystoke : la leyenda de Tarzán , el rey de los monos”  de Hugh Hudson ) y Stanley Cortez ( fotógrafo de la onírica “La noche del cazador” única obra dirigida por el gran actor británico Charles Laughton , de “El cuarto mandamiento” de Orson Welles y “La furia del planeta rojo” de Ib Melchior ) .


  Esta es la “escuela” fundamental de Pepe Murcia que unido al enorme afán de conocer , aprender , visualizar y captar todo lo que pulula alrededor suyo son los factores principales de su obra .

Me dejo llevar como el polen : o bien cabalgo el viento o soy transportado por algún insecto . Así es como veo las cosas desde el visor de mi cámara . Puedo buscar y encontrar ( o no … ) o , simplemente , tropiezo con LA IMAGEN . Igual que me sucede en mi vertiente musical ( mi más patente referencia cultural , una de mis grandes pasiones ) , la inspiración guía mis pasos por encima de técnicas , disciplinas y horas de dedicación . Puedo pasar de largas temporadas sin hacer un solo disparo a momentos de exceso compulsivo ( a lo japonés ) . No sigo tendencias , tampoco conozco demasiado este mundo tan creativo y plástico que es el mundo de la fotografía . Tal vez porque hay un espíritu de rebeldía que me guía por la senda de la ignorancia y lo virginal . Y eso me hace sentir libre y excelso . Puro y sin contaminar . Sin pretensiones pero con toda la ambición que conlleva la locura , la pasión por transmitir sensaciones . Y así , siento que mi persona y obra no son más que una parte mínima infinita , microscópica de un TODO universal . Una parte minúscula que espero veáis bella , hermosa , como yo la siento e intento transmitir para que así lo pequeño crezca en cada uno de los que compartan mi obra y , al final , sea tan grande , tan hermosa como cada uno sienta . Mi reto es conseguir comunicar y captar sin histrionismos y sin crepitar , haciendo un llamamiento a la total libertad del subconsciente del que observa . Si lo consigo me siento satisfecho .

“ Había gastado en un café , a primeras horas de la noche , los últimos céntimos que me quedaban sin que la acostumbrada bebida me hubiese dado la inspiración que buscaba y de la que tenía inmediata necesidad . En esos tiempos pasaba casi siempre hambre , de pan y gloria , y no tenía padres ni hermanos en el mundo …


…En aquella noche de enero el aire estaba saturado de viento y de campanadas – de viento nervioso y chirriante y de campanas horriblemente monótonas - . Había entrado en el gran café ( luz blanca , rostros soñolientos ) y había vaciado lentamente mi taza , esforzándome en despertar en mi cerebro alguna reminiscencia de extrañas aventuras , obstinándome en aguijonear mi imaginación para que capturase alguna imagen que me permitiese vivir por algunos días …


…Estaba , por eso , dolorosamente atento al río de mis pensamientos , dispuesto a lanzarme sobre la primera visión que se prestase…Pasaron así cuatro horas de mi inútil espera . Mi alma estaba vacía , mi espíritu tardo y mi cerebro cansado . Renuncié , puse sobre la mesa los últimos céntimos y salí . Apenas me hallé fuera , una imagen , al azar , se apoderó de mi espíritu , una imagen que había visto muchas veces y cuya localización no recordaba .


  Si un hombre cualquiera , incluso vulgar , supiese fotografiar su propia vida , vería una de las más grandes obras que se hayan fotografiado nunca . “

Bear in mind we are dealing with works of art, so they may be in an exhibition (actually, this is awesome!). Those artworks which are in an exhibition are usually displayed as “non-available”. In case the artwork has been put up for sale, take into account the artist would have to manage with the organization of the exhibition the return of the artwork in order to be able to realize the shipment.
